Increase end user productivity with Microsoft Office 365
One of Australia’s largest telecommunications company reached out to CICS to lead the transition from on-premise legacy email systems to Microsoft Office 365 (O365).
Our first challenge was to understand the current and future business needs, identify assets, challenges, pain-points and gaps in the current messaging and collaboration environment and translating these into end to end solutions aligned to enterprise strategies and standards.
The organisation had many legacy systems and mixed versions of Microsoft Exchange Server ranging from 2003 – 2013 environment with over 20,000 mailbox users distributed across the Asia Pacific Region.
The existing messaging environment proved to be problematic and unstable, requiring frequent maintenance and outages.
CICS worked closely with the Telco to plan and design a solution to transition to Microsoft Office 365.
The objective was to migrate over 20,000 user mailboxes from legacy environments to O365 with minimal interruption to the business and end users.
CICS worked collaboratively with the Telco on the planning, design and integration activities to help deliver a hybrid Microsoft O365 environment.
Leveraging CICS’ extensive cloud and messaging expertise, we implemented the migration strategy to decommission legacy servers while migrating user emails to O365.
The benefits were immediate as the distributed workforce took advantage of integrated email access across multiple platforms, distributed document access and a seamless remote work solution that let users access their data from anywhere.
The business benefited by boosting productivity, reducing ongoing maintenance and support costs and bring greater functionality to their workforce.
